General suggestions:
-Whole Foods prepared food counter
-Sauteed fish; any white fish in butter/lemon
-Couscous with small chopped veggies and broth
-Meatballs (can make with ground chicken, turkey)
-Rice and beans, all kinds (black, pinto, lentils)
-Lentil salad
-Dr. Praeger’s brand frozen veggie burgers, spinach and broccoli pancakes, veggie and chicken nuggets, sweet potato pancakes (anything from Dr. Praeger’s is good)
-Banana and zucchini bread
-Onion crusted salmon from Zabar’s
-Spiral pasta tossed with ricotta cheese and tomato sauce
-Spaghetti marinara: cut up the long pasta (traditional or rice noodles), tomato sauce, very well-cooked eggplant
-Whole wheat pasta with melted cheese
-Buckwheat and flax seed waffles
-Baked sweet potato with cottage cheese
-Soft brisket in small pieces
-Sauteed veggies (like cauliflower) mashed with melted cheese
-Any omelets: broccoli/spinach/tomato, all with cheese
-Grilled cheese with tomato and avocado slices Quick and easy suggestions:
-Modified guacamole: mashed or sliced fresh avocado, tomatoes, light onion
-Pizza bagels: tomato sauce with melted soy or regular cheese on English muffins or bagels
-Tofu/brown rice/veggie (of your choice) stir fried, mashed up, lightly seasoned.
-Turkey slices rolled up
-Sandwiches: thin layer of almond or peanut butter and raw honey on whole wheat or flax grain breads (flax contains Omega 3 fatty acids)
